Former Corwith man is dead

Corwith - Masonic funeral services for Budd Lawson, 78, Coralville, a former farmer in the Corwith area, were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Blake funeral chapel in Corwith. Burial was in the Corwith cemetery.

Mr. Lawson died suddenly at his home in Coralville Wednesday evening.

Born in Illinois, Mr. Lawson served in World War I and married Bess Hutchison at Fort Dodge in 1926. The couple lived near Corwith until moving to Coralville in 1955.

Survivors, besides his wife, include a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Nordquist, Iowa City, and two grandchildren.

Mr. Lawson was a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge at Corwith; a member of the American Legion in Corwith, and a past president of the Corwith Community School Board.

Corwith - Budd Lawson, 78, retired farmer, died Wednesday night at Coralville.

Masonic funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. in Blake Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Corwith Cemetery.

He was married to Bess Hutchison June 5, 1926, at Fort Dodge. They lived in Corwith until retiring in 1955 when they moved to Coralville. They spent summers in Corwith.

He was a 50 year member of Paradise Lodge AF & AM 553 of Corwith and of the American Legion and past member of the Corwith School Board.

Surviving are his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gerald Nordquist, Iowa City, and two grandchildren.
