Rites Tuesday for Lars Jorgensen, 70, of Garner

Garner - Funeral services for Lars Jorgensen, 70, will be at the Zion United Church of Christ at 2 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. H. Allen Wirtz of the United Presbyterian Church will officiate. Burial will be in Concord Township Cemetery with the Bohn Funeral Home of Garner in charge. Jorgensen died at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt Friday night following a long illness.

Lars Jorgensen, the son of Lars and Kristine Jorgensen was born in Nasby, Denmark, on May 9, 1892. He came to Britt in 1910, returning to Denmark in 1913 to marry Laura Nielsen March 9, 1914. The couple returned to Britt where Jorgensen engaged in the drainage business.

In 1916 the family moved to Garner where they have lived since. In later years Jorgensen entered the trucking business and for the past 10 years he has been employed by Hancock County.

Survivors are his wife, Laura; one son, Ralph of Garner; two daughters, Mrs. John (Pearl) Gatchel, Garner, and Mrs. Gene (Rosemary) Tannahill of Jasckson, Minn.; eight grandchildren, and one brother in Denmark. He was preceded in death by two daughters, one brother, parents and two sisters.
