Rites for Mrs. Powers Held at Crystal Lake; Death Was in Osceola

Crystal Lake, Jan. 19 - Funeral services were held Friday afternoon at the Methodist church for Mrs. Leon Powers who died at her home in Osceola after a short illness. Millie Sanquist, 36, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Sanquist, lived in this community and was married at Garner in August, 1920, to Leon Powers.

To this union were born two daughters and and son, Lyle, 13, Fern, 10, and Lois May, 4. Mr. and Mrs. Powers and children have made their home in Osceola the past four years.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves her aged father, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Sheft, Forest City, and Mrs. Bernice Humes, Miller; three brothers, George, of Corning; Lewis, Forest City, and John of Crystal Lake. Services were in charge of the Rev. Joseph Hutching.
