Rites Pending for Banker at Crystal Lake

Britt - Funeral services were incomplete Tuesday for Chris Gillstrap, 76, former Crystal Lake banker, who died Monday afternoon after a long illness.

Mr. Gillstrap was born at Keokuk March 15, 1877, to Mr. and Mrs. John C. Gillstrap. He was married March 1, 1904, to Mata B. Blakley.

Mr. Gillstrap came to Crystal Lake in 1900 and was a grade and livestock dealer until 1908 when he entered the Crystal Lake Savings Bank, serving as president until 1927. In his later years he was in the real estate and insurance business.

Survivors include the widow, son John I., of Chicago, and daughters, Mrs George Isaacs of Stockton, Calif., and Mrs. Albert Bobby of San Antonio, Tex., and six grandchildren.

Funeral Thursday for Former Banker

Crystal Lake - Funeral services for Chris Gillstrap, 76, former Crystal Lake banker, will be held Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the family home and at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church, with burial in the Crystal Lake cemetery. He died Monday after a long illness. The arrangements were in charge of the Boughton Funeral Home at Britt.
