Alfred Rofinot, Well Known at Corwith, Dies In Alaska

Mrs. Louis Lentenger, of Corwith, received word Last week from Dawson, Yukon Territory, that her brother, Alfred Rofinot, who had been in a hospital there for some time, had suffered a stroke of paralysis, and was in a critical condition. Mr. Rofinot has been in the Yukon country for a number of years, and has accumulated a large amount of property. He had planned to visit his sister at Corwith sometime this winter. Later - Since the foregoing paragraph was written, it is learned that Mr. Rofinot has died.

Alfred Rofinot, formerly of Corwith, died in Alaska a few days ago. He lived there for a number of years. He became quite well to do. He was a brother of L. A. Rofinot who was miller in the Model Mills in the city in pioneer days.

Leaves for Alaska

Albert Rofinot left Corwith Saturday for the Klondike country to look after business affairs of a brother who died at Dawson last December. After getting his brother's business affairs straightened up, he will bring the remains of his brother home for burial.

L. A. Rofinot's Brother Dead

Alfred Rofinot, a brother of L. A. Rofinot, formerly of this place, died a short time age near Dawson, Alaska. He followed gold mining in his younger days but later engaged in the hotel business. He kept the finest house in Dawson and accumulated considerable money. L. A., who is at present at Corwith, was recently injured by an automobile, which ran over one of his feet crippling it. Another brother, Albert Rofinot, has gone to Dawson to bring home the remains of Alfred.

The trip will require twenty-seven days travel each way.
