Garner Woman dies at Daughter's Home
Garner - Funeral services for Mrs. Elizabeth Gertrude Vaughn, 71, will be held at St. Paul's Lutheran church Sunday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev. L. W. Heidemann officiating. Interment in the Concord township cemetery with the Bohn funeral home in charge. Mrs. Vaughn died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vern Grau, at 12:45 a.m. Friday.
Mrs. Vaughn was the daughter of Selma Gehre and Frederick Hager and was born at Nichols Station, Muscatine county, Aug. 21, 1879. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Hudson and was married at Cedar Falls Jan. 9, 1900.
She leaves 3 children: Mrs. Vern Grau of Garner; Irvin Vaughn of Seattle, Wash., and Ed T. Vaughn of Minneapolis, Minn.; 2 sisters, Mrs. Ida Nelson of Waterloo and Mrs. Agnes Bennett, San Gabriel, Cal.; 2 brothers, Paul Hager, Hepler, Kans., and Arnold Hager of Ventura, Cal., several grandchildren and a host of friends. Mrs.Vaughn was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran church.
