Britt rites for Alvin Staplin

Britt - Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Congregational Church here for Alvin M. Staplin, 85. The Rev. Albert Walker will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery, Britt, with the Boughton Funeral Home in charge.

Born July 4, 1876, at Nora, Ill., he was the son of William H. and Mary Phelps Staplin. He was married to Amelia J. Beer, July 4, 1918, at Great Falls Mont. She died several years ago.

A member of the Congregational Church here since 1895, he was a member of the first class of Britt High School. He belonged to the IOOF Lodge 611 and Canton Phoenix of Mason City.
