Mrs. Krall, 73, Dies At Garner

Services Will Be in Church Where She Was Married

Garner - Mrs. Ben Krall, 73, died here Tuesday afternoon about 4 p.m. following a lingering illness.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete, although the services will be held in St. Boniface Catholic church in which Mrs. Krall was the first woman to be married. The ceremony took place there Dec. 28, 1884. Mrs. Krall was Anna Wellik before her marriage.

Mr. and Mrs. Krall lives in Calmar for three years following their marriage and then returned to Garner. They built a home here 52 years ago and have lived in it ever since.

Survivors include Mr. Krall and eight children. They are L. J. Krall, Clear Lake; Ben Krall, Jr., Mason City; Mrs. Mox Schutz, Mason City; Bert Krall, Mason City; Miss Stella Krall, Garner; Mrs. T. A. Roebrig, Omaha, Nebr., Mrs. John Morrissey, Wyoming, Ill., and Frank Krall, Lakota.

Hold Rites Of Mrs. Krall, 72

Garner - Funeral rites were held Thursday morning at the St. Boniface Catholic church here for Mrs. Ben Krall, 72, who died at her home here Tuesday afternoon following a lingering illness.

The Rev. M. J. Mantecnach offered requiem high mass, and pallbearers were Louis Schmidt, John Engstler, Peter Engstler, Joe Byers, Louis Schleusner and George Knoll, members of the Catholic Order of Foresters in which Mr. Krall was a charter member. Carl W. Bohn was in charge of the services and burial was made in the Catholic cemetery.

Mrs. Krall, who had lived the past 53 years in Garner, is survived by her husband, eight children, 10 grandchildren, one brother, Charles Wellik of Garner and one sister, Mrs. William Fritsch of Garner.
