Knoll Rites Set at Britt

Britt - Military rites for Elmer B. Knoll, 44, will be conducted Friday at the Evangelical Free Church at 2 p.m., preceded by a prayer service at the Boughton Funeral Home. He died Monday night at University Hospital after an operation. The Rev. Ernest B. Streed will be in charge.

Mr. Knoll, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Knoll, was born Aug. 16, 1912, at Marshalltown. He later moved to the Klemme community with his parents and was graduated from Garner High School. He enlisted in the Army in World War II in 1942. He served in Europe, received the Purple Heart and other decorations. He was discharged in 1946.

On Aug. 7, 1948, he was married to Hazel Almy, Britt, at Forest City. They have lived at Waterloo since their marriage where he was employed at the John Deere plant. For the past several years he has been employed by Kroblin Truck Line, Sumner.

Surviving are his wife and six sisters, Mrs. Jake (Elsie) Dorenkamp, Thornton; Mrs. Jack (Erma) Hoff, Mrs. Leon (Lavonne) Lemke, Mrs. Kenneth (Rita) Juhl and Mrs. Raymond (Lorraine) Swalve, all of Garner, and Mrs. Joe (Isabelle) Dankbar, Clear Lake.
