Rites at Britt for Resident of Mason City
Britt - Requiem mass will be recited Wednesday morning at St. Patrick's Church for Jacob Ginder, 79, of 711 Elm Drive, Mason City, who died at a hospital in Mason City Sunday. Death followed a stroke which he suffered Friday. The Rev. Fr. John P. Smith will offer the mass. The Boughton Funeral Home is in charge. Burial in the church cemetery.
Mr. Ginder was born in Russia Feb. 14, 1876, was married there in 1901, and came with the family to the United States in 1907, settling at Portland, Ore. The original family consisted of the parents, two sons and seven daughters, including twins. Three children died in their native land. An infant died in 1919.
Moving to Britt, the family worked on various farms in the community. In 1920 Mr. and Mrs. Ginder and family moved to Kansas City where Mrs. Ginder died in 1923. Later they moved to Mason City and back to Britt in 1929.
Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. Ralph Bradford, Kansas City Kan.; Mrs. Keith Kirk, Muscatine; Mrs. Cecil Carberry, Mason City; Mrs. Rollin Perkins, Britt, and Mrs. Oswald Kopps, Oceanside, Calif., seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
