Aged Resident Dies at Britt
Funeral to Be Sunday for Anthony Baker, 85
Britt - Funeral services for Anthony Baker, 85, former cafe operator, will be held Saturday at the Boughton funeral home at 1:30 p.m. and at the Congregational church at 2 p.m., the Rev. Lester Gatch and the Rev. Paul Wolstenholm officiating. The Odd Fellows lodge will be in charge. Burial will be in the Evergreen cemetery.
Mr. Baker died at the home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Boughton, Wednesday following a heart attack.
He was a native of Indiana. Coming to this community in 1895 the family lived on a farm northwest of Britt, then moved to the edge of Britt where Mr. Baker operated a dairy. He then retired and moved to Britt where he operated a cafe for several years.
Mr. Baker was a member of the Congregational church in which he served as deacon. He was secretary of the Britt fair board, secretary of the Britt creamery and was associated with the Odd Fellows and Masonic lodges.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Mrs. Boughton of Britt and Mrs. George McClave of McClave, Colo,: 2 brothers, Gus of Britt and Charles of Austin, Minn., and 2 sisters, Mrs. Anna Johnston and Mrs. Louise Thompson of Britt. His wife died April 29, 1937.
