Remains H. O. Herrick Father Mrs. V. A. Cook, Brot Here for Burial

Virgil Cook returned home Wednesday fron Huntington Park, California, with the remains of his wife's father, the late Henry O. Herrick. Mr. Herrick was born in May, 1855, in Danby, Vermont, and died at his home in Huntington Park, Californina, November 10. He was the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Harris Herrick.

When he was 26 years old the family moved to Kane, Ill. In 1892 he was married to Miss Susan Turpin. They lived for a time back in Vermont, later coming to Swaledale, and later to the farm now owned by Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Cook. For the past number of years Mr. and Mrs. Herrick spent their winters in California and Florida, and the last two years they lived in California. Mrs. Herrick was unable to make the trip here at that time.

Four daughters were born to this union, Alta dying at the age of two years. Three survive: Mrs.Virgil Cook; Mrs. Etta Corbit of Rose Creek, Minn., and Mrs. Nancy Corbit of Dexter, Minn. One grand-daughter also survives.

Funeral services were held at the Virgil Cook home Friday, Rev. Harry Herlein officiating. J. J. Cook and Harry Newgard sang two duets. Pallbearers were J. J. Cook, W. L. Sherwood, John Lauen, Fred Lemke, Howard Barger, and George Avery of Belmond. Interment was made in Amsterdam cemetery.
