LONG ILLNESS TERMINATES IN DEATH

Harris M. Lackore, of Hayfield,
Passed Away at Hospital In Forest City

Hayfield, Iowa, January 14: - Harris M. Lackore, prominent farmer and stockman and a life long resident of this community died at the hospital at Forest City. January 9, 1946, after several months illness.

He was taken ill about a year ago but kept going about his usual vocation until four months ago when he was compelled by more severe illness to cease his activities and all that medical aid and loving care was done for him but death ended his suffering.

Harris M. Lackore was born at Hayfield June 2, 1899 and was almost 47 years of age at time of death.

He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Lackore and grew to manhood here, attending the public schools and was united in marriage to Miss Hazel Pringle, August 24, 1918, at Garner, with the Rev. A. W. Gauger performing the ceremony.

Five children were born of this union, two of whom died in infancy. Those surviving are Marvin and Charles at home and Mrs. Arvilla Larson of Morrison, Ill., and one grandson.

He started the occupation of farming after his marriage and has continued in that vocation and was a good stockman.

The deceased was a kind and loving husband and father. A good neighbor and a friend of everyone. He will he greatly missed not only in the family circle but among his wide acquaintances of friends.

Besides his wife and children and parents there are left to mourn his passing five brothers, Earl of Kansas City, Norman of Forest City, Clark of Garner and Clarence and Clayton of this locality, and four sisters, Pearl of Mason City, Mrs. Gladys Unruh of Madrid, Neb., Mrs. Sylvia Sorenson, of Garner, and Mrs. Mable Kester of Forest City and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral rites were conducted Saturday from the Olson Funeral home at Forest City at 1:20 and at the Hayfield Methodist church at 2 P.M. and interment at the family lot at Madison Cemetery. Funeral rites were conducted by the pastor, the Rev. G. J. Hjelmaas, assisted by the Rev. A. W. Gauger, former pastor here, now of Mason City, and a friend of the family.
