Klemme & BelmondKristine (Kucinski) Whitney the daughter of Lewis and Carrie (Sokowolski) Kucinski was born July 16, 1907, Warsaw, Poland. She sailed the North Sea to the United States in 1913, and settled with her family in Lorraine, Ohio.
She graduated from Morningside in 1926 with a degree in music. Wayne and Kris met in Paulina, Iowa; where Kris was teaching vocal music, and penmanship, and Wayne was coaching. They were married at the Little Brown Church in Nashua in 1934. Wayne and Kris taught in many places including Paulina, Bronson, Britt, Williams, Rockwell, Hanlontown, Ware, Renwick, and Klemme where they retired in 1963.
Kris was a violinist in the Sioux City Symphony for 20 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star, member of the United Methodist Church, sang in the United Methodist Church Choir, and circles, was a member of Senior Citizens, and Grandmothers Club.
She died on Saturday, December 5, 1992, at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
She is survived by her husband Wayne of Klemme, sons, Ralph of Wheaton, III; and Richard of Hoffman Estates, Ill. Two grandchildren, Laura and Jennifer Whitney. Brothers, Leo of Sioux City, la; Edward of Crawfordsville, Ind; Richard of Duluth, Mn; sisters, Marcia Griffin of San Antonio, TX; and Irene Campbell of Oak Ridge, Tn.
She is preceded in death by her parents, and 2 sisters, Estelle, and Isabelle.

Kristine Whitney
KLEMME - Kristine Whitney, 85, of Klemme died Saturday (Dec, 5,1992) at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the United Methodist Church, KIemme, with the Rev. Jerry Robertson officiating. Burial will be in Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Monday at Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme.
Memorial contributions may be directed to the Tenold Funeral Home, Klemme.
Kristine Whitney was born July 16, 1907, in Warsaw. Poland.
Survivors include her husband, Wayne Whitney, Klemme; two sons, Ralph Whitney. Wheaton. Ill., and Richard Whitney, Hoffman Estates, Ill.; two sisters, Marcia Griffin, San Antonio, Texas, and Irene Cambel, Oak Ridge, Tenn.; three brothers, Leo Kucinski, Sioux City, Edward Kucinski, Crawfordville. Ind, and Richard Kucinski, Duluth, Minn.; and two grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sisters.
