R.D. 'Butch' Richardson

FOREST CITY — Funeral services for R.D. 'Butch' Richardson, 83, Forest City, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Forest City. He died Thursday (Jan. 7, 1982) at the Forest City hospital.

Mr. Richardson founded Richardson Tire Shop, Forest City, in 1917 and operated the business until selling it to his son Delbert in 1953. For 27 years, Mr. and Mrs. Richardson spent part of the year in Florida, where he operated a bicycle shop in their home.

The Rev. Ole Winter and the Rev. John Hieronymus will officiate. Burial will be in Madison Township Cemetery, Forest City.

Visitation will be after noon today at Petersen Funeral Chapel, Forest City, and at the church prior to services.

Survivors include his wife, Gertrude; one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Darlene) Batton, Emmetsburg; one son, Delbert, Forest City; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, and two sisters, Eva Landhere, Britt, and Irma Boston, Cedar Falls.
