Mr. Albert G. Koerner, who was a resident of the Klemme Community for over 65 years, passed away early Wednesday morning, May 3, 1967 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, where he had been a patient for the past 4 days.

He was born at Winona, Minnesota on July 4, 1881, the son of William and Mary Koerner. His father was a minister and he had occasion to live in various communities before coming to Klemme. He received his early education in Fort Dodge and Le Mars, Iowa.

On November 4, 1903 he was united in marriage to Lillie Lau at Klemme.

Mr. and Mrs. Koerner operated the first telephone system in Klemme, which they ran until 1926, later they operated a dairy business in Klemme for many years until retiring in 1952.

Mr. and Mrs. Koerner had the opportunity of celebrating their 60th Wedding Anniversary before she passed away in 1964. While in his active years, Mr. Koerner was a member of the Methodist Church, and had served on both the Klemme City Council and Klemme School Board.

Surviving are five children: Delores, Mrs. Lee Ridder of Klemme, Gerald Koerner of California, Kermit Koerner of Klemme, Valeria, Mrs. Glen Bridges of Klemme, Nova, Mrs. Leon Gelner of Klemme , also surviving are 15 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, 4 sisters and 1 brother.
