Rev. Robert BronsonIlene Sedell Beyer, the daughter of Severin and Ida (Larson) Skauge, was born June 17, 1928 at Kanawha. She attended rural schools and then graduated from Clarion High School in 1945. She worked for Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Clarion and later was transferred to Minneapolis. In 1956, she moved to the telephone company's new district office in Rochester, MN where she continued working until 1970. On August 6, 1960 she was married to Maynard Charles Beyer at St. Pius Catholic Church in Rochester, MN. In 1970, they moved to Garner. Ilene enjoyed being a homemaker, Girl Scout Leader, traveling,
golfing, playing with her grandchildren, doing volunteer grandchildren, doing work and serving on the North Iowa Girl Scout Council and Garner Country Club board for seven years.She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she taught Sunday school and Christian Education. She was also a member of LWML, Rebekah Circle, Wa Tan Ye, the General Federation Woman's Club and the Alpha Zeta Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority.
She is survived by her husband, Maynard Beyer of Garner; her daughter, Lisa Johnson and her husband, Don, of Garner; two grandchildren, Blake and Mallory Johnson; a sister, Alva Hasty and her husband, Grover, of Kanawha; a brother, Harold
Skauge and his wife, Loma, of Clarion; a brother-in-law, Robert Robb of Clarion; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Gladys Robb, June 26, 1996.
Ilene had a wonderful faith in God, a deep love for her family and was loved by all. She will be sadly missed by those close to her!
