REV. KATHRYN BISSENLoren Ray Cook, 69, passed away Wednesday, April 10, 1991 at the Hancock County Memorial Hospital in Britt, Iowa. Loren, the son of Erith and 011ie Todd Cook was born September 8, 1921 at Kanawha, IA where he received his education.
In 1942 Loren was united in marriage with Tena Brouwer at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, IA. From 1942 through 1946 he served with the United States Army during World War II. The couple lived on a farm near Kanawha until they retired in 1973 when they moved into Kanawha and Loren did general contract work.
Loren was a member of the Kanawha United Methodist Church in Kanawha and the V. F. W. He enjoyed model railroading and his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents a brother, a step-father and an infant daughter.
Survivors include his wife, Tena Cook of Kanawha, IA; one daughter, Virginia Wolf and her husband, Richard of El Paso, TX; two sons: Larry Cook and his wife, Karen of Highlands Ranch, CO and Tom Cook and his wife, Wanda of Conway, AR; five grandchildren; a step-sister, Lois Schroeder of Kanawha, IA; a sister-in-law, Velma Cook of Kanawha, IA; many nieces and nephews.
