Grace Lamfers, 79, of Kanawha, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2000 at the Kanawha Community Home in Kanawha.

Grace the daughter of Stenus and Grace Folkerts Harms was born December 13, 1920, on a farm north of Latimer. She received her education in the country schools near Latimer.

Grace was united in marriage to Kasper Lamfers on September 12, 1944 in Kanawha, Iowa. The couple fanned near Kanawha. Grace became a resident of the Kanawha Community Home in June of 1998.

Grace is survived by two sons and two daughters: Jerry Lamfers and his wife, Joan, of Britt, Kenny Lamfers of Kanawha, Darlene Benson of Mammoth Lakes, California, and Linda Hamilton of Mason City; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and three brothers: Reno Harms of Garner, Taus Harms of Belmond, and Herman Harms of Forest City.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Kasper, one son Larry in 1949, five sisters: Jenny, Minnie, Kate, Etta and Maggie; seven brothers: Ernest, Stenus, Martin, George, Herman, John, and Stenus.
