CHARLES LLOYD SHERWOOD
Charles Lloyd Sherwood, the son of Charles and Nellie Mae (Morris) Sherwood, was born on a
farm in Cerro Gordo County near Rockwell, on April 1, 1897.As a youth he attended elementary schools and later Hamilton Business College in Mason City,
Iowa. On May 30, 1918 he entered military service with the United States Army and served
overseas in France.On April 13, 1927 he was united in marriage to Irma Hawkins Read, at Gallatin, Missouri. Mr.
Sherwood was employed by the Northern Lumber Company over forty years. First in Mason City,
and later as manager of the Klemme firm for 21 years.Lloyd passed away on Wednesday afternoon, December 13th at Concord Manor Nursing home in
Garner, where he had been cared for the past month. He was 70 years of age.Lloyd was a member of the American Legion, had served on the town council, school board,
civic club, and official board member of the Methodist Church, of which he was a member.Surviving are his wife, Irma,
Daughter, Nellie, Mrs. Ervin Ausborn, of Klemme,
Son, Francis, of Mason City, Iowa,
and five grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
