Homer James Young was born July 20 (also found July 2), 1889 at Clear Lake, Cerro Gordo, Iowa to James A. Young and Carrie E. Stratton.
(Father James Anderson Young (born 1860 Illinois, died 1941); Mother Carrie E. Stratton (born 1864 New York, died 1940); both buried at Concord Cemetery, Garner, IA.)

Homer James Young married Minnie Agnes Carothers on September 14,1911 at Garner, Hancock, Iowa.

The couple had 3 children:
Homer Dale (born July 30, 1913 Garner, IA, died November 27, 1944 Germany),

Doris Belle (born June 23, 1921 Cerro Gordo, IA, died 1982, buried Garner, IA) and

Dorothy Alice (born August 16, 1927 Hancock, IA).

Homer James Young died 1958 and is buried at Concord Cemetery, Garner, Hancock, IA.
