John H. Johnson, farmer residing a half mile north of Huntchins died at his home at 8:15 A.M. Tuesday following a general decline in health of several years duration.
Mr. Johnson was born in Denmark on Sept. 29, 1865. When twenty years old he came to America settling at Somonauk, Ill. He was twice married, his first wife being a Griggs. She died soon after their marriage. On Feb. 6, 1901, he united in marriage with Annie M. Baker at Corydon, Indiana. Their lives have been spent on farms in this locality and here they reared a family of five sons, all of whom survive with the mother. They are Herbert L. Johnson, Clyde W. Johnson, Frank L. Johnson, Homer H. Johnson and Gilbert C. Johnson, all living in Hancock County. A sister, Mrs. Andrew Aageson, is the sole survivor of the family he came from.
Mr. Johnson lived a quiet, upright life. He was a good father and husband, always interested in his family and their welfare. At death he had reached an age of 74 years, 3 months and 17 days.
Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o'clock Thursday and at 2:30 at the Bethel Baptist Church in Britt, the Rev. B. A. Rust in charge. Interment will be in Evergree Cemetery.

John Johnson Funeral Held
Interment Made for Native of Denmark in Britt Cemetery
Britt - Funeral services in charge of Boughton's funeral home were held Thursday for John H. Johnson who died Tuesday. Services were at 2 o'clock at the funeral home and 2:30 at the Bethel Baptist church in Britt with the Rev. B. A. Rust in charge.
Johnson was born Sept. 29, 1865 in Copenhagen, Denmark. He had been a citizen of this country for 51 years. He is survived by his wife and five sons, Clyde W., Frank L., Homer H., Gilbert C., all of Britt and Herbert L., of Woden, and two sisters Mrs. Andrew Aageson of Britt, and Mrs. Anthony Nelson in Denmark, five grandchildren and several nephews and nieces.
Burial was in Britt Evergreen cemetery.
