CHRIST BLUMER, 60, IS BURIED IN OHIO ON FRIDAY, OCTOBER 20.
FIVE FROM COUNTY ATTEND RITES FOR FORMER RESIDENT OF HANCOCK CO.
Deputy Sheriff Elmer Katter, Karl Kraus, Emil Blumer, and William Haberkamp returned from New Knoxville, Ohio, where Oct. 20, they attended funeral rites for Christ Blumer, a former resident of Hancock county who died at his home in Ohio Oct. 18 after having been ill for the last four years with diabetes.
Mr. Blumer was born in Pforzheim, Baden, Germany, 60 years ago. He came to America with his parents in 1883, when he was only 4 years old. The family lived in Liberty township and Mr. Blumer attended the German township center school and Ell town church, where he was confirmed.
He married Miss Mary Placke of New Knoxville Sept 12, 1900 in the Ell town church with the Rev. Mr. Gatterman officiating. Ten years ago he moved from Klemme to New Knoxville, where he resided until his death.
Surviving are two sisters, Mrs. A.E. Katter of Garner, and Mrs. Charles Kraus of Klemme.
Mr. Blumer was a member of the Evangelical Reformed church of New Knoxville where services were held with Dr. O.B. Moor officiating. Burial was made in the Pilger Ruke cemetery.
