DIED - At his residence near this place on the 16th inst., the Rev. David P. Day, aged 55 years.

Father Day was a man highly esteemed where known. Truly it might be said of him, "none knew him but to love, none named him but to praise!"

His labors as a minister of the gospel in this region for the last two years, have been untiring, and [illegible] laid the foundation of the disease, that has taken him from us. He has gone, but has left an influence behind him that will be lasting. His warning voice is heard no more, but his example is left for our imitation.

Let us cherish his memory, profit by his warnings, and imitate his example.
