STRATFORD - Fay Young, 83, Scottish Rite Park Health Care Center, Des Moines, a former Stratford resident, died Sept. 26, 1988 at the center. She was born Nov. 17, 1904 in Marquisville, the daughter of Robert and Henrietta Sheets Jopling. She married Wallace Erick Young June 21, 1942 at Bethany, Mo.
Young was employed in the fur department of Younkers Store in Des Moines until she retired. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stratford and the O.E.S. Acanthus Chapter, Des Moines.
She was preceded in death by her husband and a brother.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Howard Roberts of West Des Moines, four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Baptist Church in Stratford with the Rev. Dennis Schoolfield officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Stark-Welin Funeral Home in Stratford from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until noon Wednesday. Memorials may be given to her church.
