Arthur S. Young, 89, of Stratford, passed away at the Hamilton County Medical Center in Webster City on Monday evening, October 16, 1995 due to heart failure.
He was born on November 29, 1905 near Stratford in Hamilton County the son of Jonas and Hilda (Bocklund) Young. On March 27, 1941, he married Elsie Bergman at Stratford, Iowa.
Art farmed all of his life in the Stratford area until his retirement. In 1981, the couple moved into the town of Stratford.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Neal Douglas, two sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include his wife Elsie Young of Stratford, IA; numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held on Thursday, October 19 at 1:30 p.m. at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford, Iowa with Rev. Sue Ellen Sherman officiating.
Interment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery north of Stratford.
Stark-Welin Funeral Directors in Stratford is in charge of arrangements.
