March 31, 1949Anna Williams, daughter of William and Cecelia Williams, was born on a farm near Sheridan, Ill., November 1, 1868, and passed away in her home at Stratford on Sunday morning, March 20, 1949, at the age of 80 years, 4 months and 19 days.
Her early years were lived in Illinois. In March, 1903, she came to Stratford to make her home. A few years later she returned to Illinois and spent four years in her old home community, after which she returned to Stratford where she had since lived. She suffered for many years from a chronic ailment until death gave her relief.
She leaves to mourn her departure, one brother, J.S. Williams, of Story City, and two sisters, Mrs. O.L. Swedlund and Minnie Williams, of Stratford, and a large number of other near relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the residence conducted by the Rev. E.A. Cochell. Music was furnished by Mr. and Mrs. A.A. Kurtz, who sang, "The Old Rugged Cross," and "Sunrise Tomorrow."
The pallbearers were Anna's nephews, Herschel Williams, Sheldon Williams, Marlowe Williams, Willard Chally, Leo Swedlund and Clifford Swedlund. The remains were interred in Oakwood Cemetery.
