Obituary – HENGY
Many were the hearts that were saddened when the sad news was whispered from ear to ear that Mrs. Al. Hengy had passed away Thursday evening. Although she was suffering from an ailment which her friends knew would result in her passing away, her departure from our midst was keenly felt by her many friends.
Mrs. Al. Hengy, whose maiden name was Ida C. Bloomberg, was born October 9, 1871, at Victoria, Knox county, Illinois. In 1875 she moved with her parents to Stratford, where she resided until her death. She was united in marriage to Al. Hengy February 14, 1895. During the last year she has been in very poor health, and the last eight months were almost an unbroken series of terrible sufferings, but she bore her sufferings with the patience of a martyr placing her trust in Him, who can alleviate all sufferings. From these terrible sufferings she was relieved Thursday evening, June 11th at 6:25 o'clock. Her father and brother have preceded her to the better land, but she leaves a kind and lonely husband, and an aged mother; besides other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her departure. Seven years ago Mrs. Hengy joined the local Baptist church, where she has been a most useful and faithful member. In Sunday school and elsewhere she was always at work for the extension of Christ's kingdom. Of her it can truly be said: "She hath done what she could." Now she has gone to receive her reward.
The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the residence and at the Baptist church, the services being conducted by her pastor, the Rev. Robert Larson. The Royal Neighbor Lodge, of which organization the deceased was a member, paid their tribute to the memory of the deceased by forming in a body and marching to the residence and the church. After the services and the remains had been viewed by a large number of friends, the funeral cortege wended its way to the Oakwood cemetery, where the remains were laid to rest.

[she was the daughter of Lars Eric Fahlstrom & Christina Persdotter Bloomberg both of whom are also buried at Oakwood Cemetery, Stratford]
