Mrs. Catherine Zeihan Passes Away.

After several weeks of suffering Mrs. Catherine Zeihan passed away at Mercy hospital in Webster City Saturday night at eleven o'clock. The funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Catholic church at Webster City, conducted by Rev. Norton, and the body was laid at rest in the Catholic cemetery in Webster City beside her husband.

Mrs. Zeihan was 59 years, 4 months and 13 days of age, having been born August 15, 1851, in Germany. He came to America when she was twenty-one years of age and located in Kenosha, Wis., where she was united in marriage with John Zeihan. In 1874 they removed to Hamilton county and located on a farm near Jewel. To this union were born eight children, five sons and three daughters, one son, Paul, dying in infancy. The surviving members are Michael, John, Frank, and Mrs. Annie Roskopf living near Jewell, Peter residing near Webster City, and Clara and Susan, who resided with the mother in Webster City. The husband preceded the mother to the great beyond on July 4, 1894, aged 55 years. She is also survived by two sisters and one brother, living in Kansas and North Dakota. In 1903, the deceased moved to Eagle Grove for the purpose of allowing the daughter to attend the convent school there. In 1907 they came to Webster City to make their home, where the deceased resided until her death.

Mrs. Zeihan was a devoted and honored member of the Catholic church all her life, was a woman of pious Christianity, a kind and loved mother, a good friend and neighbor, and highly esteemed by her friends and neighbors everywhere for her kindliness, her conscientious devotion to every duty that as hers, and for her ever ready sympathy and assistance. Everyone in the community sympathizes with the bereaved members of the family in their loss.
