OBITUARY

Brita Jonsdatter Oine was born in Odda, Hardanger, Norway, June 10, 1839, and died in Jewell, Iowa, August 15, 1916, being 80 years, 2 months and 5 days old.

She married Sjur Skare in the year 1870 and about a year after their marriage they came to America. After having lived in Illinois a short time they moved to Hamilton County, Iowa, where they resided until their death. Mr. Skare died in December, 1914.

They had six children. Three are dead and three are still living. Those living are John Skare, Jewell, Iowa; Henry Skare, now of Jewell, Iowa; and Mrs. E. E. Holt, Sunside, Wash. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Skare was a woman whom all in the community held in the deepest and kindest esteem during the forty years or more that she lived here. She was a faithful wife, a loving mother, a good neighbor and friend, and her death came to her as the going to the reward that awaits a long and useful life.
