Mrs. Stone Mortvedt Died in Elmore, Minn.

Ellen Maria Tysdahl was born January 29, 1861, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Ed L. Johnson at Elmore, Minn., March 12, 1931, at the age of 70 years, 1 month and 11 days.

She emigrated to the United States in 1884. On March 23, she was united in marriage to Stone Mortvedt at Marshalltown, Iowa. The same year they settled on a farm in Hamilton county, where they continued to reside for 18 years. To this union was born 12 children, of which only four survive, seven having died in infancy, and Edwin at the age of twelve years. She was also preceded in death by her husband who died at Elmore, Minn., Oct. 4, 1929.

In 1905 the Mortvedt family moved to Faribault county, Minnesota, and settled on a farm in Rome township, where they continued to live until August, 1917, when they retired and moved to Elmore, Minn.

Among those at the funeral held at Elmore, were the following from Story City: Mrs. Oscar Mortvedt, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Knutson, Mr. and Mrs. Manley Hetland and Mrs. M. O. Henderson.
