DEATH CAME VERY SUDDENLY

Andrew Madson Passed Away at Home of His Brother

Andrew Madson died last Thursday night at the home of his brother, Albert Madson, near the high school building. He had come here from Jewell for a visit and took sick suddenly the Saturday before his death.

Funeral services were held in the Bethel church Monday, and the remains were then taken to Jewell for interment.

OBITUARY

Andrew Madson was born Jan. 2d, 1841, in Sogn, Norway, and died, Nov. 18, 1915. In his early manhood he was employed in Bergen, Norway, as a shipbuilder. In the year 1869 he was united in marriage to Brita Thorson Moene. The same year they came to America and resided several months in Chicago, after which they moved to Wisconsin. After two years in Wisconsin, they decided to seek their fortune in Iowa. They located in Clear Lake township, Hamilton Co. They were among the early pioneers in these parts. In 1901 they removed to Jewell, where he resided till his death. He was preceded into the great beyond by his wife and two children.

He leaves two children, five grand-children, one brother and one sister. The children are Mrs. O. I. Brekke who resides on the home farm and Theodore who lives near Kingman, Can. His brother is Albert Madson who resides in Story City and his sister is Kari Madson who lives with Mr. and Mrs. Ole I. Brekke. Last summer was spent with his son in Canada, returning Nov. 9. The Saturday following, he came to Story City to visit his brother. While there, only after a few days sickness was summoned to meet his Master and Saviour, whom he so dearly loved.
