Hans Hanson Oppedal [should be Mons Hanson Oppedal] was born in Norway April 19, 1873. There he spent his childhood days and received his secular and Christian instruction and grew to manhood.

In 1896 he came to America and located din the Lake Center community, working about as a farm hand for some year. On the first day of August 1902, he was married to Oline Tredal, who came from Norway to help Mons make a home. They started out farming in this community and remained here. The last twenty years they wored the H. E. Fardal farm near Lake Center and here he died from heart failure the 29th day of October, 1926, being 53 years, 6 months and 10 days old at the time of his death.

His wife and all five children, Aastrid, Hans, Lillie, Ludvig and Marie are surviving to mourn his sudden departure. With them we join in saying: "Blessed be his memory." He also leaves an aged father, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
