Death of Esther Nine Erickson

The community was greatly saddened Friday afternoon when word was passed around that Esther Nine Erickson had passed away at two o'clock, for it was very sudden, as she had been at school only a few days before.

She is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Iver Erickson of Willmar, Minn., and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. P. Anderson of Randall. She was born at Jackson, Minn., July 12, 1917, and passed away at the home of her grandparents at Randall September 14. She was taken suddenly sick with diphtheria and only lived two days after taking the disease. She came here with her parents eight weeks ago and has been visiting at the home of her grandparents ever since. Esther attended school seven days when taken ill. When a baby she received Christian baptism. She was a child that always loved to be near her mother. She was a flower that had been planted on earth for just a few short years and then God called her to a brighter home in heaven where he spirit will shine forever like a bright and shining star.

Funeral services were held Saturday morning at 9 o'clock conducted by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud and she was taken to Story City and laid to rest in the Story City cemetery. She leaves to mourn her passing her mother and father, 1 sister and 3 brothers and grandparents, and a number of other relatives.
