Obituary

Elise Olson was born in Jytland, Denmark, Sept. 14, 1846, and died at her home northwest of Randall May 17, 1923, at the age of 77 years.

She was united in marriage to Nels Olson in 1870. In the year of 1881 they came to America and settled on a farm near Jewell and from there they moved to farm northwest of Randall where they have resided ever since.

To this union ten children were born, of which all are living. Mrs. Olson has for some years been in failing health, but last Saturday morning, May 12, she was taken very ill and continued failing until death claimed her. She was a patient sufferer and always tried to look on the bright side of her troubles, and trusted in God to the end.

She will be sadly missed in the home here, but has gone to brighter home in Heaven where there is no sorrow or pain to bear. She leaves to mourn her death her husband and children, namely: Pete Olson of Elmore, Minn.; Mrs. Nels Nilson of Des Moines; Mrs. Carl Egland of Jewell; Mrs. Carl Thoresonof Ames; Mrs. Mary Allie of Story City; Martin, Jels Jr. and Chris, all of Randall and John Olson of Des Moines; also 42 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. All the children were present as she passed away to meet her God and Savior.

Funeral was held Saturday afternoon, conducted at the home at 1:00 o'clock and at 2 o'clock at Elim Lutheran Church by Rev. G. O. Paulsrud. The body was laid to rest in the Mount Olive cemetery north of town. The pall bearers were Leonard and Casper Egland, Archie and Floyd Olson, Leo Thoreson and Alies Nelson.
