John Kastler, 87, longtime Woolstock resident, died yesterday afternoon at the Rotary Ann home in Eagle Grove. He had been in failing health for the past month.

Funeral services are pending, possibly on Friday.

Mr. Kastler, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kastler, was born Jan. 1, 1875 at Woolstock, and had always lived in and around Woolstock, having engaged in farming and formerly operating a general store in Woolstock.

Survivors include one son, John Kastler of Osceola; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Murphy of Waterloo and Miss Helen Kastler of Webster City; five grandchildren; two brothers, Charles A. Kastler of Eagle Grove and Edward Kastler of St. Paul and two sisters, Mrs. Carrie Gaster of Fort Dodge and Mrs. Anna Craig of Woolstock.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.

WOOLSTOCK - Funeral services for John Kastler, 87, longtime Woolstsock resident, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Kastler funeral home in Eagle Grove.

Mr. Kastler, a former Woolstock businessman and longtime farmer, died Tuesday afternoon at the Rotary Ann home in Eagle Grove.

[Mr. Kastler, his wife, Jane Schoenberger and daughter Helen Kastler are buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, Iowa; was unable to find an obituary for Jane Schoenberger Kastler born 1876 died 1945]
