Anna Eliza Miller, daughter of John and Mary Miller, was born Oct. 15, 1853, on a farm in Berkley county, Va. When she was a small child, she came with her family by covered wagon to Ohio. The family resided there until she was 15 years old and then moved to Logan county, Ill., where she completed her education.

She was married at Macon, Ill., to James B. Kennedy, on Feb. 22, 1876. The couple farmed in that community for five years before moving to Iowa and locating on a farm southeast of Webster City. For the next four years they farmed in that vicinity, then purchased a farm home two miles north of Kamrar, residing there until retiring in 1916. Mr. and Mrs. Kennedy then moved into Kamrar where Mr. Kennedy died Feb. 7, 1923.

Mrs. Kennedy was also preceded in death by three sons, Lee, Dick and Will; her parents; two sisters and four brothers. She is survived by four sons - John G. of Sioux City, Oscar A. of Dexter, Minn., Otto of Kamrar and Glen of Parkersburg - and also by 12 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Baptized in the Methodist faith, she was a charter member of the Methodist church at Kamrar. The first church there was a schoolhouse and Mrs. Kennedy took an active part in the work which resulted in erection of a new church. She participated in church work as long as her health permitted. Mrs. Kennedy was also an active member of the Yeoman lodge.
