Funeral services for Wayne W. Dakin, 50, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Edgewood Mortuary with Rev. Byron D. Surface officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Mr. Dakin, a longtime Webster City resident, died Thursday morning at the Hamilton county hospital.

Wayne W. Dakin, son of Emory and Flossie Dakin, was born July 9, 1923 at Webster City. He was graduated from Webster City high school with the class of 1942.

Mr. Dakin served in World War II in the South Pacific area from 1943 to 1946.

He was married to Margaret M. Boucher on July 22, 1944 at Hopkinsville, Ky.

Mr. Dakin had farmed for many years in the Kamrar area, and for the last nine years he had been an operating engineer with the Webster City Power and Light Co.

He was a member of Grace United Methodist church.

He is survived by his wife; one son and one daughter, Steven W. Dakin of Boone and Mrs. Paul (Marsha) C. Gordon of Iowa City; one brother and four sisters, Darwin Dakin of Rice Lake, Wis., Mrs. Wallace (Velma) Wedlund of Des Moines, Mrs. Madeline Nelson of Des Moines, Mrs. John (Jeanne) Svenson of Webster City and Mrs. Daryl (Donna) Doolittle of St. Louis, Mo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Warren.
