Funeral services for Carl Dean Wahman, 69, Stanhope, were held Monday, Jan. 4, 1993 at Merle Hay Funeral Home, Des Moines. Rev. Danial Fricke conducted the 10:00 a.m. service. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery, Stratford.

Mr. Wahman passed away Thursday, Dec. 31, at his home due to complications of diabetes.

During the service Margaret and Norman Erickson sang "How Great Thou Art" accompanied by John Wichael. Bearers were Jerry Wendelboe, Gerald Bright, Leo Karn, Wes Deaver, Alan Moyer and Cal Borrusch.

Carl Dean Wahman was born on Wednesday, Jan. 24, 1923 at Stanhope. He was the son of Carl and Nellie (Carlson) Wahman. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. Carl retired as president of DeFran Inc. He had lived in West Des Moines since 1971.

Carl was a member of the Worldwide Church of God and VFW Post No. 3676, Des Moines.

Survivors include his wife, Fran; sons, Garry Wahman, Altoona and Gregg Wahman, Dexter; daughters, Dianne Jones, Des Moines and Ann Berven, Littleton, CO; 19 grandchildren; stepson, David Hoffert, Denver, CO; stepdaughters, Denise Guthy, Arden, NC; Donna Turgeon, Pasadena, CA; sister, Ilo Stark, Des Moines.

[according to information on Find A Grave he was married in 1944 to Lois Ardelle Siemsen, she passed away in 1978, he remarried Frances Erline Kingery Hoffert in 1979]
