Marcene Lenz, 66, formerly of Jewell, passed away November 25, 2022 at Centura Castle Rock Adventist Hospital in Castle Rock, CO. The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 13th from 10:00 to 11:30 at Soderstrum-Reimers Funeral home in Jewell with prayers being said at 11:30. Burial will be in the Goldfield Cemetery in Goldfield, Iowa.

Marcene Ilese Lenz was born to Verle and Patricia Lenz June 27, 1956. She grew up on a farm in Jewell, Iowa and graduated from South Hamilton Community School in 1974. Marcy went to Jr. College and then moved to Colorado for Flower School. She worked for Mountain Bell as an operator and quickly became a Chronics Telephone Technician for Qwest. She moved to larkspur to enjoy the mountains, nature and outdoors.

She loved being outdoors riding horses and was active in 4-H. Snow Skiing, Camping, Sail boat racing, sailing on Lake McConaughy were special summer time events. Being from a farm she would volunteer to work at The Ranch to help show kids about the animals and what it's like to be on a Ranch. Feeding the goats and chickens (aka The Chicken Whisperer) and giving all the cats names was part of her outdoor passion. Marcy enjoyed and had good knowledge about collecting good antiques, vintage heirlooms and other eclectic things. Talking to people was easy for her and made many friends and her sense of humor would bring joy and make everyone laugh.

There were four siblings in the family Blaine, Marcy, Tracy and Melanie. Her two cats Hoffa and Waffa. She will be dearly missed by all.
