WAS AMONG EARLY SETTLERS

Mrs. B.S. Mason died of paralysis at the home of Mr. and Mrs. B.C. Mason, in this city, at 9 o'clock last night, after an illness lasting two weeks, at the age of 66 years.

Margaret E. Meeks was married to Alonzo Thompson in this city in 1857. To them one son - Carey W. Thompson, now of Placer, Oregon, was born. Mr. Thompson died in 1887 and Mrs. Thompson was married to Bradford S. Mason in 1891. Mr. Mason died May 11, 1902. Soon after the death of Mr. Mason, deceased went to Eldorado, Kansas, to make her home with a niece, Mrs. William Barger, formerly of this city. A few weeks ago she returned to this city, and soon after her arrival here was stricken with paralysis, from which she never recovered. Her son Carey has been in the city the past few days, called hither on account of the critical illness of his mother. Mrs. Barger is also in the city.

Mrs. Mason was held in the highest esteem and universally respected throughout Hamilton county. She was kind hearted, with a sunny disposition, and was beloved by all who enjoyed the pleasure of her acquaintance. In her death a good woman goes to her final reward.

The funeral will be held at the B.C. Mason home tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by Rev. James. Alvin Clark of the Universalist church, of which society deceased had been an active worker ever since its organization in this city.
