Mrs. Bernice McCollough, 70, died last evening at the Southfield Care Center. She had been in ill health the past year.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Grace United Methodist church with Rev. Charles Smith, Rev. Russ Burnett and Rev. Jan Burnett officiating.

Burial will be in Cass Center cemetery.

Friends may call at the Foster Funeral home until 10 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church.

Bernice Ubben, daughter of Ben and Carrie Honken Ubben, was born Oct. 10, 1914 in Hamilton County. She was educated at the Liberty Center school.

On Aug. 31, 1935 she was married to William McCollough and the couple farmed south of Webster City until 1970 when they moved into Webster City.

She was preceded in death by her husband in December, 1978. She continued to reside at 1237 Division St. until moving to the Southfield Care Center in October, 1984.

She is survived by two sons and three daughters: Keith and Don McCollough, both of Webster City, Mrs. Carl (Wilma) Ades of Clear Lake, Mrs. Russ (Jan) Burnett of Independence, Mo., and Mrs. Randall (Kathy) Guhl of Jacksonville, Fla., 15 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are four brothers and four sisters, Arend Ubben, Jewell, Mrs. Carl (Ricksta) Davis, Webster City, Mrs. Clarence (Carrie) Caruth of Jewell, Elsie Maples, Stanhope, Leonard Ubben of Marshalltown, Edward Ubben and Melvin Ubben, both of Williams, and Mrs. Charles (Minnie) Larson of Goodell; two half-sisters, Grace Isvik of Story City and Mrs. Edmund (Katie) Seiser of Webster City.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister and one half-sister.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist church.
