Mrs. Ernest Grandgeorge, 59, died at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at her home, 856 Water street. She had been in failing health the past eight years but more seriously ill the past year.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Foster funeral home with the Rev. C.H. Pettersen officiating and burial in Graceland cemetery.

Vera Hazel Doughten, daughter of William and Martha Doughten, was born August 2, 1896 on a farm in Henderson county, Ill. When she was three years old, the family moved to Iowa, locating on a farm near Osceola. She was 14 years old when the family moved to Woolstock.

She was married Dec. 15, 1915 to Ernest Grandgeorge and Mr. and Mrs. Grandgeorge started housekeeping on a farm near Woolstock. They made their home there until 1943, when they moved into Webster City, their home since.

She is survived by her husband and three daughters: Helen J. Grandgeorge, at home; Mrs. Harvey (Martha) Good and Mrs. Everett (Rosemary) Gillman, both of Azuza, Calif.; four grandchildren, Adelma Jean and Christe Lea Good, Denys Ann and Kimberley Eileen Gillman; three brothers and one sister, Mason Doughten of Woolstock, Charles Doughten of Webster City and Russell Doughten of DeLand, Fla.; and Mrs. Blaine (Florence) Hunt of Osceola; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Mrs. Grandgeorge was a member of the Methodist church at Woolstock. She was a member of the Legion Auxiliary of the W.A. Doughten Post, 553, of Woolstock.
