Calvin Chalfant, age 80 of Ozark, MO died Thursday, July 23 following an auto accident in Nixa, MO.

JoAnn Chalfant, age 80 of Ozark, MO died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO from injuries sustained in the auto accident.

Funeral services will be held, Friday, July 31, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center, with Rev. Jeff Flagg officiating. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.

Calvin Chalfant, son of Clifford and Ruth (nee Eslick) Chalfant, was born September 8, 1934 in Webster City, IA. He graduated from Webster City High School. Calvin was a self employed electrician.

JoAnn Elaine Johnson, daughter of Fred and Tillie (nee Wicks) Johnson, was born February 20, 1935 in Alden. She graduated from Iowa Central Community College and Southwest Baptist University in Missouri with her degree in nursing. She worked for Reeds Spring Missouri VO-Tec.

The couple was united in marriage on July 20, 1951. The couple resided in Stratford until 1977, moving to Kimberling City, MO.

Calvin and JoAnn are survived by their children, Mike Chalfant of Fulton, MO, Kevin (Debbie) Chalfant of Colorado Springs, CO, Paul (Kim) Chalfant of Midland, TX, Lisa (Mike) Smith of Kimberling City, MO; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; Calvin's siblings, Roger (Shirley) Chalfant of Washington, Chris (Don) Koestner of Webster City; JoAnn's sister, Thelma Hill of Webster City; several nieces and nephews.

The couple were members of Aldersgate United Methodist Church in Nixa, MO.

They were preceded in death by their parents; JoAnn's brother, Fred "Fritz" Johnson Jr. and JoAnn's sister; Verdell Brattebo.

Memorials may be left to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in memory of Calvin and JoAnn.
