John F. Fortune, 55, Freeport, Ill., died April 23, 2005. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Saturday at the Church of Christ in Lehigh. Visitation will be 10 a.m. Saturday at the church. Services are by Richard Laird.

John F. Fortune was born April 22, 1950 at Fort Dodge.

He is survived by his mother, Inez Fortune Hanus, Webster City; sister, Pat and Bob Easter, Clare; Sue and Junior Wolf, Webster City; and Barbara Trame, Hubert Heights, Ohio; brother, Allen and Reba Fortune, Stanhope; grandmothers, Ethel Phipps, Fort Dodge and Hilred Fortune, Dayton, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Fortune, and his grandfathers, Harold Fortune and William Phipps.
