Tuesday, November 21, 2006John L. Stanger, 91, Webster City, died Saturday, Nov. 18 at the Hamilton County Hospital. John was a World War II U.S. Army veteran and worked at McMurray Hatchery for many years. John loved the outdoors, especially fishing and hunting.
He is survived by his sister, Alice Fortune, Webster City, nephews, Leonard and Jim Fortune, Daniel Welshams and other nephews and nieces in Waterloo. He will be missed by his fishing buddies, friends and family. As per John's request, there will be no visitation or services.
