Word has been received of the death of W.D. Vey, 74, a former Williams resident.

W.D. "Bud" Vey was born in Williams and was a Navy veteran of World War II. He retired as a major from the Marine Corps. He also served in Korea and Vietnam. He worked as AGE Federal Credit Union manager and was a member of the American Legion and the U.S. Navy First Beach Battalion Association.

Survivors are his wife, Pauline; four sons, Gary, Grey, Glen and Gene; a daughter, Gail Bischoff; a sister, Mary Boss of Williams and three grandchildren.
