Margaret Thelke, 97, of Fort Dodge, died at the Fort Dodge Villa Care Center, Sunday, April 4, 1999. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Olaf Lutheran Church with Rev. Kim Helmick officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation is from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at the Gunderson Funeral Home.

Margaret Kniewaser was born January 19, 1902 in Aurora, Illinois. She was reared and educated in rural Alden, Iowa. On February 16, 1922 she married Herman Thelke at the Vernon Lutheran Church at Dows, Iowa. The couple farmed near Blairsburg before retiring in 1977 when they moved to Fort Dodge.

She is survived by her daughters, Nelda Glasco and Erma Larsen, both of Fort Dodge; sons, Donald Thelke of Alden and Robert Thelke of Blairsburg. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and a sister, Elsie Anders of Cedar Falls. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Thelke in 1987, her parents, Fred and Barbara (Feuhr) Kniewaser, two brothers and three sisters.

She was a member of the St. Olaf Lutheran Church. Memorials may be directed to the discretion of the family.
