Thursday, January 13, 2005Myrtle Bates Heinkel Ledford, 84, died Dec. 12, 2004 at her home in San Jose, Calif. The daughter of Earl and Minnie Stoppelmoor Bates, Myrtle is survived by her five children, eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren, her former husband and lifelong friend, Bob Heinkel and many nephews and nieces, including Virginia Hassebrock and Arlene Fisher, Webster City. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother Walter L. Bates, sisters Jennie Fisher Boehme, Irene Claude and Edna Jones.
