Hazel C. Westwick, 88, Iowa Falls, died Friday, April 1, 2005 at Ellsworth Municipal Hospital in Iowa Falls. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams with Rev. Tom Hunt officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Grove Cemetery at Williams. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church prior to services. Surls Funeral Home in Williams is in charge of arrangements.

Hazel Christina Hoversten was born June 3, 1916 at Williams, the daughter of Thomas and Anna Anderson Hoversten. She married Jesse C. Westwick on Oct. 25, 1936 at Williams. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Williams, the Ladies Aid and was a dedicated member of Rose Grove Lutheran Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Marilyn Rieks and husband Bob, Iowa Falls, and Jane Evans, Grimes; a son-in-law, Burnell Hill of Ellsworth, six grandchildren, Shelly Rivera and husband Bob of Urbandale, Tanya Baker and her husband Steve of Des Moines, Robyn Stephens and husband Rusty of Bondurant, Kristin Evans and husband Dale, Johnston; Celeste Pournaras and husband Dean, Concord, Ca., and Lana Becerra and husband Nathan of Bellevue, Ne.; two grandsons, Rob Swenson and wife Pam of Williams and Spencer Hill of Ellsworth, fourteen great-grandchildren, Bob Rivera, Stephanie Rivera, A.J. Harris, Ryan Swenson, Tyler Swenson, Collin Swenson; Tanner Stephens, Taylor Stephens, Alexis Pournaras, Sydney Pournaras, Georgia Pournaras, Lauren Becerra, Carly Moses and Brandon Sturdy who was killed in action in Iraq in 2004, a brother, Glen Hoversten of Afton, a sister-in-law, Ruth Ruppel of Webster City; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jesse Westwick; daughter, Carmen Hill, great-grandson Brandon Sturdy who was killed in action in Iraq; three sisters, Edna Everman, Birdie Inks and Alice Mathias; four brothers, Willard, Chester, Ernest and Gaylord Hoversten.
